Teotihuacan is the name given to the site which was one of the largest cities of Mesoamerica in pre-Hispanic times. Its name in nahuatl, the native language of the area, means the “place that was made by the gods” or “the city of the gods.”
During the pre-Hispanic era, Teotihuacan was explored by later residents of the area who found the site. The Toltecs and Aztecs excavated the remains of the city to extract precious objects from it. This was been confirmed by archaeological explorations in Tula and the temple in Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Aztec empire. Teotihuan became the subject of myths essential for Mesoamerican beliefs, such as the legend of the Suns of the Mexica.
In this great tour you will see the majestic architecture of Teotihuacan and you’ll understand the influence that it had on pre-Hispanic cultures. You will be stunned by the scope of the site and the ability of this ancient culture to create the massive pyramids.
